SK Innovation has announced its executive appointments for 2026.
On October 30, SK Innovation revealed its plans to appoint Jang Yong-ho, current Executive President of SK Innovation, as CEO at the upcoming annual general shareholders’ meeting in March next year. The company will establish a co-CEO system, with Jang Yong-ho and the incumbent CEO, Choo Hyeong-wook, each acting severally.
Through this new leadership structure, SK Innovation aims to further strengthen its core competitiveness and improve its financial structure.
SK On, the battery business subsidiary of SK Innovation, held its board meeting this afternoon and resolved to appoint Lee Young-wook, CEO of SK Siltron, as President of SK On. Lee Young-wook and Lee Seok-hee, current President of SK On, will together establish a co-CEO system for SK On.
Lee Young-wook brings extensive expertise in manufacturing and materials industries, having served as President of SK Materials and SK Siltron. He will oversee all manufacturing and operational aspects of the battery business. Lee Seok-hee will focus on strengthening customer relations, particularly in North America, and driving innovation in research and development (R&D) technologies.
SK Innovation also announced the appointment of Lee Jong-soo, Head of SK Innovation E&S LNG Business Division, as President of SK Innovation E&S CIC (Company in Company). Lee Jong-soo will accelerate SK Innovation’s electrification capabilities by expanding collaboration between existing SK Innovation businesses and the E&S LNG value chain. CEO Choo Hyeong-wook will step down from his concurrent role as President of SK Innovation E&S CIC.
An SK Innovation spokesperson commented, “We are currently reviewing executive appointments for other SK Innovation subsidiaries, excluding SK On. Once decisions are finalized, we will announce them accordingly.”
