Day). Members of the company attended the live stream meeting online to practice social distancing due to COVID-19. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Nanum Gothic', sans-serif; font-size: 13pt;\">CEO Na Kyung-soo began the virtual communication with the members of the company by saying, \u201cCOVID-19 affirmed that no matter how good business or a system is, it can be collapsed in an instant.\u201d He added, \u201cParticularly, the chemical business which faces environment issues including plastic waste will not be able to survive unless it is transformed into a completely different business, unlike what we have been knowing.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-71114\" src=\"https:\/\/askinno.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/200520_SK\uc885\ud569\ud654\ud559_GREEN_\uc804\ub7b5_\uc774\ubbf8\uc9c0_3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1180\" height=\"268\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Nanum Gothic', sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;\">\u25b2 (Left) SKGC members participate in Comm. Day on May 20.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Nanum Gothic', sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">| <\/span>The chemical business can\u2019t survive if it doesn\u2019t become essential business indispensable to both the humankind and the environment<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Nanum Gothic', sans-serif; font-size: 13pt;\">The CEO said, \u201cAs COVID-19 has brought the global economy to a halt for the past few months, the humankind witnessed that air pollution that had plagued us was somewhat reduced.\u201d He continued, \u201cIn the meantime, the outbreak of the virus also shed new light on the need for plastic as we found we needed sterilized packaging materials for the sake of safety and health, and chemical materials for disposable medical devices, and ready-made meals and sanitary supplies became more necessary because of the spread of \u2018Untact\u2019 consumption culture.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Nanum Gothic', sans-serif; font-size: 13pt;\">\u201cThese examples present both challenges and opportunities for the chemical business. Unless the chemical business strengthens beneficial functions of plastic that help improve quality of life while building a virtuous cycle that ensures plastic waste is completely recycled as a resource, the business has no place on earth.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-71109\" src=\"https:\/\/askinno.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/1-4_\ub300\uccb4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1180\" height=\"540\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Nanum Gothic', sans-serif; font-size: 13pt;\">CEO Na also explained, \u201cThe only way for SK Global Chemical to continue to grow in the future will be to implement \u2018deep change based on green business practices.\u201d He added, <strong>\u201cThe strategy for the green business practice is centered around \u2018Green for Better Life\u2019 that is about integrating the beneficial functions of the chemical business into \u2018green\u2019 to go eco-friendly and provide values helping enhance quality of life for the humankind.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Nanum Gothic', sans-serif; font-size: 13pt;\">To practice \u2018Deep Change based on green business&#8217;, SK Global Chemical decided to preemptively respond to environmental issues and develop green portfolio and suggested major projects to that end as follows; <strong>increasing high-performance green products, expanding its definition of customers and pursuing of both economic values and social values by establishing an eco-friendly plastic ecosystem, and enhancing corporate capabilities in the technology-based recycling business of plastic waste.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5854 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/askinno.com\/global\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/05\/200520_SK\uc885\ud569\ud654\ud559_GREEN_\uc804\ub7b5_\uc774\ubbf8\uc9c0_2_3\uc218\uc815.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1180\" height=\"796\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Nanum Gothic', sans-serif; font-size: 13pt;\">First of all, the company decided to increase the share of its green products to more than 70% by 2025. Currently, it is 20% of its all products.
