\u25a0 Park Jin-Hei, the former CEO of a financial company, has been appointed as the new chairman of SK Innovation\u2019s BOD<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u25a0 Reinforcing the \u2018board-centered management\u2019 by appointing independent chairman for two consecutive times<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

SK Innovation has appointed Park Jin-Hei, an independent director, as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors (BOD).<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Born in 1957, Chairman Park graduated from Seoul National University with a bachelor’s degree in trade. He also earned MBA at the University of Chicago and the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Citibank Korea.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In March last year, he was first appointed as an independent director of SK Innovation, seeking sustainable development strategies for the company and contributing to the establishment of a fair personnel system in the Future Strategy Committee and the Personnel Evaluation and Compensation Committee under the BOD.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

With the appointment Park as the new chairman, SK Innovation BOD continues the independent chairman system that began in March 2019, when the company appointed then-independent director Kim Jong-hoon as the chairman. This system has been evaluated to be an effective way to solidify the board-centered management and lay the groundwork for practical contributions of independent directors’ expertise and insights to company management over the past four years.<\/span><\/p>\n

SK Innovation BOD expects that new Chairman Park will contribute to the development of the company’s financial story, global management and growth with the experience and capabilities he has accumulated so far, including serving as CEO of a financial company. <\/span><\/p>\n

In a recent interview with SK Innovation\u2019s news channel, Chairman Park shared that \u201cSK has the image of a young corporate that confronts challenges and makes achievements while looking to the future, and the implementation of BOD-centered management is a great change in its governance structure, which other companies in Korea haven\u2019t fully implemented yet.\u201d \u201cSK Innovation is a company that is not afraid of change, and it has led a successful history. Through a transparent decision-making process based on the expertise and diversity of the BOD, we\u2019d like to contribute to the continuous growth of SK Innovation and realize the vision of \u2018Carbon to Green\u2019,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n
