To keep our promise to make the Earth clean and beautiful, members of SK Innovation affiliates took part in the EnviRun for the Earth (\u201cEnviRun\u201d in short) plogging campaign in the first half of this year as well. Started in Korea, EnviRun has been running for three years, attracting the participation of not only SK Innovation employees but also local residents of where the company\u2019s global business sites are located. <\/span><\/p>\n |<\/span> A campaign receiving love for the 3rd<\/sup> year in South Korea<\/strong><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n During the first half of 2023 (until May 19), the number of SK Innovation affiliated members in Korea who participated in the EnviRun campaign was 5,484 people, recording a total of 5,832 times of participation, which is equivalent to 11,094 hours of volunteering. <\/p>\n The first leader of SK Innovation affiliates that took part in EnviRun program this year is the Head of SK Energy P&M CIC Oh Jong-hoon. On April 12, he and numerous members of SK Energy P&M gathered to pick up litter around Jogye Temple in Jongno, Seoul. On the next day, SK Geo Centric CEO Na Kyung-soo and the company\u2019s employees walked from Myeongdong Cathedral to Namsan Tunnel while gathering trash along the way. \u25b2 (Left) Head of SK Energy P&C CIC Oh Jong-hoon and employees participated in the EnviRun campaign near the Jogyesa Temple in Jongno, Seoul on April 12. And the next leader who joined the campaign in Korea was SK Incheon Petrochemical CEO Yun-seok Choi. A few weeks later, on May 18, CEO of SK IE Technology Kim Cheol-jung visited Jeungpyeong, where the company\u2019s domestic production plant is located, to meet more than 100 employees there and take part in plogging activity together while walking the Samgi Reservoir Deungjan-gil near to SK IE Technoology\u2019s Jeungpyeong facility.<\/span><\/p>\n \u25b2 (Left) Head of SK Innovation Institute of Environmental Science & Technology Lee Seong-jun and SHE Coordinators took commemorative photo after participated in the EnviRun campaign on April 20. They wore t-shirts that were designed to support the 2030 Busan World Expo and carried out plogging around the Cheonggyecheon Stream, marking the first steps of executing ESG practices as SK members.<\/span><\/p>\n \u25b2 As part of celebrating the 100th day since joining the company, newly hired employees of SK Innovation had the EnviRun activity around the Jongno area, Seoul on April 21. <\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Also, the Korea Volunteer Center, Korea Road Traffic Authority, and the headquarters of the Korea Coast Guard collaborated once again this year for the EnviRun campaign, following cooperation from the previous year. On April 14, SK Innovation Ulsan complex (Ulsan CLX) and Ulsan Volunteer Center jointly organized the opening ceremony for the EnviRun campaign. Moreover, SK Innovation participated in EnviRun campaign with the Consulate General of the People\u2019s Republic of China in Jeju and the Korea China Economy & Culture Education Association (KCCEA) together on April 21. <\/span><\/p>\n \u25b2 (Top) SK Innovation Ulsan CLX and Usan Volunteer Center held opening ceremony for the EnviRun campaign at Ulsan Grand Park on April 14. (Bottom) SK Innovation participated in the EnviRun campaign with local community people at the Gwideok Port area of Hallim-eup, Jeju City on April 21.<\/span><\/p>\n |<\/span> Active participation of global members around the world <\/strong><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n The beautiful wave of EnviRun, which started in Korea, spread to other 11 SK Innovation-affiliated global business sites around the world. SK Battery America, the first battery production base of SK On in the States, held plogging activities twice along the roadside of Steve Reynolds Industrial Parkway, where its plants are located, on February 24 and March 6 (local time).<\/span><\/p>\n \u25b2 SK battery America local members had the EnviRun activity around the Steve Reynolds Industrial Parkway area on Mach 6 (local time).<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The EnviRun activities of local members in the U.S. continued with SKGC Americas, SK Energy Americas, and SK Enmove Americas\u2019 participation on April 22 (local time). Together with their family members, they spent meaningful time collecting litter at Surfside Beach, Texas.<\/span><\/p>\n \u25b2 Members of SK Geo Centric Americas, SK Energy Americas, SK Enmove Americas, along with their families, had EnviRun activity at the Surfside Beach near the Freeport in Texas on April 22 (local time).<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n On the other side of the globe, 30 employees of Patra SK, a joint venture between SK Enmove and Indonesian state-owned company Pertamina, along with their family members gathered to pick up trash and clean up around Bukit Datuk, an area in Dumai City, where Patra SK has its office.<\/span><\/p>\n \u25b2 Patra SK members and their families participated in EnviRun campaign near the Bukit Datuk on April 16 (local time). <\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Overseas branches of SK Earthon actively joined the campaign as well. On April 20 (local time), 22 members of SK Earthon Hochiminh Branch in Vietnam spent 3 hours picking up litter around the Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon despite the extremely hot weather.<\/span><\/p>\n \u25b2 Members of SK Earthon Ho Chi Minh Branch had EnviRun activity around the street near the Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon on April 20 (local time).<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n On the next day, April 21 (local time), employees of SK Earthon Lima Branch headed out to the seaside in Barranco, Lima, Peru to collect trash along the beach. 11 members of Kuala Lumpur branch, along with Kim Kyoung-jun, Head of SK Earthon Southeast Asia Business Office, joined the campaign by cleaning up the area near the Saloma Link Bridge on April 27 (local time).<\/span><\/p>\n \u25b2 (Top) Members of SK Earthon Lama branch had EnviRun activity at Seaside in Barranco, Peru on April 21 (local time). (Bottom) Members of SK Earthon Kuala Lumpur Branch participated in EnviRun campaign near the Saloma Link Bridge, Malaysia on April 27 (local time).<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n In Changzhou, China, 18 employees of SK hi-tech battery materials China (a subsidiary of SK IE Technology) and 10 members of partner company took part in the plogging activity together around Qianzi Lake. They collected about 9.07kg of trash there.<\/span><\/p>\n \u25b2 Members of SK hi-tech battery materials China (SKBMC) had the EnviRun activity at the lake, located near their office on April 20 (local time). <\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n From April 7 to 21 (local time), SK Geo Centric’s subsidiary SK Functional Polymer carried out EnviRun activities in Paris, Balan, and Cerdato, France, where the company\u2019s business sites are located. During this period, SK Functional Polymer members spent a total of 26 hours of volunteering and collected 600 liters of garbage.<\/span><\/p>\n \u25b2 SK Functional Polymer participated in EnviRun campaign through various locations across France, including Paris, Valence, Cerdato, etc. from April 7 to 21 (local time).<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Following this, on May 12 (local time), SK hi-tech battery materials Poland (a subsidiary of SK IE Technology) held a special EnviRun campaign with the children of a local school for the disabled in D\u0105browa G\u00f3rnicza, where its production base is located. On this day, after the plogging activity, the company members and the children also held a tree planting event together. The company members were glad to take part in this program, for it could help both the local environment and the disabled at the same time. <\/span><\/p>\n \u25b2 Members of SK hi-tech battery materials Poland (SKBMP) had the EnviRun activity with children of developmental disabilities at the disabled school located in D\u0105browa G\u00f3rnicza City, Poland on May 12 (local time).<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Members of SK Enmove India and SK On Hungary also participated in EnviRun campaign by gathering to pick up trash near their offices on May 17 and May 19, respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n \u25b2 (Top) Members of SK Enmove India participated in the EnvriRun campaign around the School, which located near their office on May 17 (local time). It helps the company members get closer through group activities and join hands to protect the environment regardless of their places and positions.
