SK Global Chemical (CEO Na Kyung-soo, www.skglobalchemical.com<\/a>) took part in the K Show 2019, a trade show held in D\u00fcsseldorf, Germany, on the 16th in a bid to gain a foothold into the existing and upcoming markets of global packaging and automotive. The company\u2019s booth was jointly operated by SK Chemicals.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The major goals of SK Global Chemical’s participation in the K Show include\u00a0proactively communicating with the global packaging and automotive markets, which are the two industries that the company has been focusing\u00a0on\u00a0as its future growth engines, and\u00a0taking the K Show as a place to meet\u00a0its potential clients. The booth was divided into the packaging and automotive zones to provide a more in-depth experience for the visitors.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

K Show is a global plastic and rubber trade fair held in Germany every three years. It is counted as one of the three foremost plastic trade shows in the world, along with the National Plastic Exposition (NPE) of the United States and the Chinaplas of China. This year\u2019s K Show involves nearly 3,200 companies from 60 countries around the world taking part in a fair held from October 16 to 23 and is expected to draw about 230,000 visitors from 160 countries around the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

The major themes of SK Global Chemical\u2019s booth this time\u00a0are: \u25b2One-Stop Packaging Solution and \u25b2Environmental, Ultralight Automotive Solutions.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cOne-Stop Packaging Solution\u201d is a core strategy of SK Global chemical organized around an extensive portfolio of major materials in packaging that seeks to provide a one-stop destination to the solutions demanded by the customers through customer-centered marketing strategies. Thus, the Packaging Zone showcased Multilayer Films and Film Resin products, such as high-performance polyethylene NexleneTM technology and high added-value packaging materials such as Promacor and SARANTM.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

SK Innovation also introduced its acquisition of Arkema\u2019s high-performance polymer division, which was first revealed to the world on the 15th of October. The acquisition of Arkema\u2019s high-performance polymer division represents the continuation of SK Global Chemical\u2019s drive to strengthen its packaging portfolio, starting with 2017\u2019s acquisition of EAA and PVDC units from Dow Chemical.<\/span><\/p>\n

The other highlight of the exhibition was the high crystalline plastic materials of HCPP, POE, and high-performance synthetic rubber EPDM, which represent SK Global Chemical\u2019s \u201cEnvironmental, Ultralight Automotive Solutions\u201d strategy on environmentally friendly mobility markets, such as EV. In particular, high crystalline plastics are common materials in both the interior and exterior of automobiles. As it can reduce the number of materials used by nearly 10% compared to conventional plastics, high crystalline plastics\u00a0bring positive effects such as improving vehicle\u00a0efficiency and reducing emissions.<\/span><\/p>\n
