In InterBattery 2019, the largest battery-specialized exhibition in Korea, SK Innovation presented the differentiated competitiveness of battery technology.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n SK Innovation attended \u201cInterBattery 2019\u201d held at COEX by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy for three days from October 16 through 18, and introduced its battery business, the growth engine of SK Innovation. This year was the second time SK Innovation attended the exhibition since it participated in the first exhibition of 2013.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Under the\u00a0theme \u201cThe\u00a0Hidden\u00a0Story of SK Innovation’s Batteries\u201d, SK Innovation\u00a0conveyed to consumers the story of its battery business, the future energy that the company is currently pushing forward.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n In the exhibition, SK Innovation displayed the history and global competitiveness of its electric vehicle battery business and introduced its differentiated technologies such as NCM 622, 811(1)<\/sup>, the world\u2019s first success in commercialization, and ultra-long battery manufacturing.<\/span><\/p>\n (1) NCM 622, 811: battery\u00a0in which\u00a0nickel-cobalt-manganese are in the proportion of \u201c6:2:2\u201d and \u201c8:1:1,\u201d respectively.<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u25b2 The front view of SK Innovation booth<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The concept and keyword for the exhibition were the \u201ctip of the iceberg\u201d and \u201chidden,\u201d respectively. Just like 95% of an iceberg is hidden under the water, the exhibition contained the potential, philosophy, value, and identity in pursue of eco-friendly energy that SK Innovation\u2019s battery business is going to reveal from now on. The iceberg-themed booth of SK Innovation caught visitor\u2019s eyes from the entrance.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n | The\u00a0Hidden Story of SK Innovation’s Batteries<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The SK Innovation\u2019s booth consisted of four content zones: Projection Mapping, Hidden Cube, Hidden Screen, and Hidden Wall.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Stepping into the first zone\u00a0\u201cProjection Mapping,\u201d vistors will\u00a0watch a video\u00a0in which\u00a0<\/span>the tip of the iceberg shows the business history of SK Innovation while the large hidden part below signifies its battery business. The video also includes an easy explanation of the company\u2019s technology on electric vehicle battery and LiBS(2)<\/sup>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n (2) LiBS: Lithium-ion Battery Separator<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u25b2 \u201cProjection Mapping\u201d zone inside the SK innovation booth<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cHidden Cube\u201d suggests a type of electric vehicle suitable for the individual visitor through five questions. Once\u00a0a visitor\u00a0complete the\u00a0questionnaires,\u00a0he\/she will get a recommendation on\u00a0which type of vehicle among Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV), Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV), and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV)\u00a0\u00a0that suits\u00a0his\/her lifestyle. Afterwards, visitors can put the recommended model of electric vehicle on the sensor\u00a0to check\u00a0relevant information about the vehicle on the screen immediately. In a nutshell, \u201cHidden Cube\u201d was created to help visitors understand batteries more easily and get familiar with them.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u25b2\u201dHidden Cube\u201d recommending a type of vehicle that suits\u00a0personal lifestyle<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The operating principle of the battery hidden inside the electric vehicle is explained in the \u201cHidden Screen.\u201d The electric car drawn on the wall inside the booth reveals the hidden operating principle of the car and roles of the battery, if one looks at it through a specially created film.
