On June 18th<\/sup> (local time), SK Innovation\u2019s overseas subsidiary SK Battery Hungary (SKBH) has conducted the first volunteer activity ever since its establishment at Kom\u00e1rom, Hungary, where its facility is located. Especially, Kom\u00e1rom Mayor Attila Moln\u00e1r and other officials of Kom\u00e1rom city including Vice Mayor Czita J\u00e1nos, Industrial Park Manager T\u00f3th N\u00e1ndor,\u00a0member of the Hungarian Parliament Czunyin\u00e9 Bertalan Judit also joined the company members to take part inthis meaningful event.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u25b2 Kom\u00e1rom Mayor Attila Moln\u00e1r (left in the first photo) and CEO of SKBH Han Sang-kyu (right in the first photo) join company members in SKBH\u2019s volunteer activity on June 18th<\/sup> (local time)<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n About 30 Korean and Hungarian employees, including CEO of SKBH Han Sang-kyu, volunteered to improve the environment of the local community by planting Acacia trees, fertilizing, watering the plants, and removing weeds in the industrial complex around the company\u2019s manufacturing plant. In 2019 and 2020, the company donated a total of HUF 15 million over two years to support three public foundations in Kom\u00e1rom. In May last year, SK Innovation donated HUF 16 million for the safety of local residents in Kom\u00e1rom during the pandemic. Beyond such financial support, SK Innovation had been planning to expand to more volunteer activities that can contribute more to the local community. However, due to the situation of COVID-19 last year, the plan for SKBH\u2019s first volunteer activity was postponed until last week, when the local situation was improved.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u25b2 SKBH members and the group of guests led by Kom\u00e1rom Mayor Attila Moln\u00e1r take a group photo after finishing the volunteer activity on June 18th<\/sup> (local time)<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Hungary was selected as a strategic production base in Europe for SK Innovation\u2019s battery business, which is the company\u2019s new growth engine.
