■ Achieves Ford’s highest supplier quality rating, meeting stringent standards in manufacturing and quality management
■ Earns certification in just over two years from commercial production, backed by close coordination between HQ and local operations
SK On Hungary announced today that its Iváncsa plant has earned Ford Q1 certification after meeting the automaker’s rigorous manufacturing and quality standards.
SK On Hungary said on the 7th that its Iváncsa plant held a ceremony on the 6th (local time) to mark the awarding of Ford’s Q1 certification. At the event, Seong-sik Kim, CEO of SK On Hungary, received the commemorative plaque from a Ford representative.
Ford Q1 is a supplier certification awarded to manufacturing sites that meet Ford’s stringent requirements across areas including manufacturing processes, product quality, continuous improvement and quality management systems.
The Iváncsa plant began commercial operations in the second quarter of 2024 and has since strengthened its manufacturing and quality systems. Earning Q1 certification marks an important milestone for the site and reflects its ability to meet Ford’s rigorous standards.
SK On Hungary began the Q1 assessment process last year, with Ford’s evaluation continuing through the first half of 2026. During that period, SK On teams in Korea and Hungary worked together to strengthen manufacturing processes and quality management at the Iváncsa plant.
As part of the preparation, SK On Hungary reinforced quality management across its manufacturing operations and strengthened preventive controls designed to identify and address potential issues early. Those efforts helped the Iváncsa plant meet Ford’s Q1 requirements.
“Ford’s Q1 certification reflects the strong commitment and close collaboration of our teams in Korea and Hungary, with quality at the center of everything we do,” said Seong-sik Kim, CEO of SK On Hungary. “We will continue to strengthen manufacturing and quality performance at our Hungary operations through continuous improvement and proactive quality management, while meeting our customers’ high standards.”
